WAXIE'S GARGLE WHELANS, Dublin. 18/06/2002

If it's a bit of craic you're after then you'll get that with Waxies gargle. A newly formed trio of mad Irish lads belting out the rare auld tunes. They covered The Dubliner's Dirty old town, and The Clancy Brothers Whiskey in the jar. With the Vocals delivered in Ronnie Drew's husky Dublinese style throughout most of the set.

It being the Tuesday after the Sunday that Ireland exited the world cup, people were still dying to sing, cry, and drink for their country. So when the lads played the one about Mister Duffer et al (I believe penned by themselves) the crowd as they say went wild!

Personally, I'd have to be very drunk to enjoy that whole genre of music and usually can't tell the difference between decades old classics or ones newly penned as they all sound the same to me. But if that's the kind of craic you enjoy then these lads will give you value for money
