Phantom FM recently announced that it will broadcast from Halloween, 31st October 2006.

The Station will broadcast from 105.2FM and will be known as Phantom 105.2. The station was awarded a BCI license to provide a Dublin alternative rock radio service.

“We have pulled together a very strong team and we look forward to bringing Phantom’s unique sounds to a broader audience, while allowing our loyal fan base easy access to us at 105.2FM,” said Ger Roe, CEO, Phantom 105.2. “We will continue to promote the Irish music scene and we place a particular emphasis on promoting unsigned Irish bands and we’re looking forward to providing Dublin with a new and very different sound.”

Phantom 105.2 will be an alternative rock and Irish music service aimed at 18-34 year olds and anyone else with an interest in Alternative Rock in the Dublin City and County area. Phantom 105.2 will, as part of its remit, promote new and unsigned Irish and International artists as well as providing opportunities for new broadcasting talent. Phantom 105.2 will build on the solid foundation and reputation that it has developed to date and will provide diversity through the provision of quality Alternative Rock music and speech based programming.

The Phantom consortium consists of a number of individuals and groups who have extensive experience in both the Irish radio and music industries. The consortium includes: Wireless Media Ltd. which represents the Phantom 105.2 founders, Gaiety Investments, Principle Management, Graham Molloy, Frank Gleeson and Paul Kavanagh.
