Club AU is a brand new monthly get together of the hottest underground bands and best DJs. With an in depth knowledge of the local and international music scenes, AU Magazine is in the perfect position to host the mother of all party nights. Taking place in the recently revamped Lavery's Attic, Club AU has found a home as fresh as their music choices.

For its opening night Club AU has assembled a lineup of unquestionable quality. Headlining the event on their exclusive Irish debut is Texan quintet Voxtrot. Having caused a stir on the blogosphere they were snapped up by Playlouder Records, a new imprint from the ever-reliable Beggars Banquet stable. Endorsed by the indie hipsters and tastemakers at music website Pitchforkmedia.com, their eponymous debut album is out on September 10. Get ahead of the pack and catch them live before the penny drops with everyone else.

PRAISE FOR VOXTROT

"Whip-smart pop rock" - Pitchfork

"There's a universality to Voxtrot... incredibly personal, widely loved and critically acclaimed" - The Fader

"Voxtrot just keeps getting better!" - Amplifier.com

Support comes from sublime and wonderful Bangorians Kowalski, fresh from sharing a stage with Snow Patrol, Ash and We Are Scientists. Their delightful brand of Death Cab-isms and killer melodies will perfectly compliment the Voxtrot experience.

PRAISE FOR KOWALSKI

"A real grasp of songwriting dynamics, the tracks building deftly, the individual constituents conjoining to create a sense of urgency, crafting a heart enmeshing whole."- Francis Jones, Culture Northern Ireland

Bringing the night to a storming climax will be DJ Jonny Tiernan, resident at Gigantic Club and Publisher of AU Magazine. Jonny is a DJ at the cutting edge of modern music. Expect a set that throws everything into the mix, from old school funk and electro, to bang-up-to-date dance remixes and classic post-punk and indie. Dancing will be mandatory, not optional.

For more information or to arrange interviews / photo passes / press accreditation contact Stu Gowdy at the AU Office on 02890 324455, or email Stu@iheartau.com

* For those in the know and in attendance at the gig there will be a super secret uber cool after party. Keep an ear to the ground.
