Hi all Especially to all of you who have asked us for our opinions on the GigTV idea (see other news stories), and those who have had experience of 'business' with the people behin it, the latest news is that the guy we have contact with - and you probably have had contact with - tells our intrepid investigator that the GigTV offices will open in Dublin next week. There will apparently be a permanent presence in the City, with an associated 'A+R' person who will filter the better bands for them. NOTE however, that we still have not seen contracts, have not seen machinery, have not seen system operations and have no idea of the finances behind the ventuer (obviously). We do think, on the other hand, that if it gets up and running, and things go even half as well as the organisers would like, it'll be a phenomenal addition to the Irish music industry at grass roots level. Finalt note of caution, though: we are still not prepared to pass judgement on the project until we see how it goes. We know 3 or 4 bands who are in line to get onto it as 'guinea pigs' and we will report back whatever we find.
