Fairuza’s first limited edition mini-album “Beautiful” achieved great critical success, receiving national and provincial airplay, a feature on “The Last Broadcast”, and an invitation to record a Fanning session in 2FM, RTE. Fairuza have attracted major record label attention but have not committed to any deal at present. Since then, to show their appreciation of all the support they received from the fans and industry alike, Fairuza gave away a free CD at gigs which contained “Get Me a Gun” (which was recorded during a Fanning Session in 2FM and a cover of the Rage Against the Machine song “Snakecharmer”. Copies of the single can still be obtained for free by emailing info@fairuzamusic.com. Fairuza have also made available their cover version of “Something in the Way” by Nirvana free to download from their website. It was recorded to commemorate Kurt Cobain’s tenth anniversary and performed at a special tribute gig in the Temple Bar Music Centre.

The new ep (a.f.k.) is something special. Since it’s release, Fairuza have recorded a podcast with Phantom FM that you can download at www.phantomfm.com/now/podcasts.htm#ispot, Kryz has been interviewed for the latest issue of Hot Press where the ep is also reviewed as ‘marvelous-an absurd, flamboyant chunk of neo-glam, with grinding riffs and a chorus worth spilling virgin blood for" …and the Ep is already a favourite on radio stations ….This band are hot right now!

Some press:
Ed Power-HotPress Magazine "This (a.f.k) is marvelous-an absurd, flamboyant chunk of neo-glam, with grinding riffs and a chorus worth spilling virgin blood for."

Rory Mc.Connell-BBC Radio 1 "To carry this sort of sound off it has to come from a place that most artists aren't prepared to explore. The deeper, darker, and most importantly truth bearing parts of the soul. Fairuza go there frequently, and kick its contents indiscriminately over everyone listening

Rick O’Shea-RTE 2FM "It's about time big things happened for Fairuza and this ep might just be the one to do it for them...."

Dan Hegarty- RTE 2FM "It felt like this band had fallen off the face of the earth, but they're back, and the new material is the best stuff they've ever done - 'Get Me A Gun' and 'Wait Don't Wait' are some of the best rock tunes I've heard in ages."

Shilpa Ganatra-HotPress Magazine "(a.f.k) confirms what their first release "Beautiful" suggested: they're rough as they are ready, as indignantly rawk as they are astute songwriters."

Cormac Battle- RTE 2FM "Utterly Raw and uncompromised....it's time to take notice"
Alison Curtis-Today FM: I'm really enjoying this (A.F.K. ep) Its a really full, mature sound, reminiscent of a mix of Queens of the Stone Age, early Nirvana and the best of Dinosaur Jr ..
Jackie Hayden-Hot Press: "Unlike a host of their rivals, Fairuza seem to have their eyes firmly set on the future without betraying the past. So keep all your ears open for them."

Hannah Hamilton-Hot Press: Fairuza strike a chord between chugging rock riffs, seething breathy vocals, considered lyrics and melodic choruses."

John Walshe-Hot Press ‘’There are flashes of genuine inspiration..'Everyway you Turn, you're Beautiful' is a cracking tune, the melody taut as a hanging-rope, the rhythm section providing a tense canvas for Kryz to paint his wordy pictures, with tempo changes seeming more natural than stylised. Similarly, the tight-as-a-fish's-arse 'Cherry Vanilla' sees them heading in the right direction: the thumping beat and Muse-like serrated guitar being sure to endear them to Dublin's army of indie kids.

-Stephanie O’Brien- Iris Magazine
The mini-album starts with a radio-friendly rock anthem with an addictive chorus, the title-track 'Beautiful'. The tune 'White Lights' has a great raw rock guitar thread running through it. Kryz Reid delivers well-articulated, intense lyric and the record makes you feel you are sitting right there among the amps in the studio.

Tom from Soundwaves:
"Over the last couple of years Fairuza have proven to be one of the best Dublin bands around. Their debut mini-album 'Beautiful' (Fairuzamusic) is solid evidence. The live favourites 'Hannigan' and 'Champagne Industry' are joined by their strongest track 'Every Way You Turn, You're Beautiful' - a song that should, and might just be huge."

Brine Pacer-Pacer Magazine: ‘Every song sounds like falling in love’
