===================== This showcase is postponed ===================== We are in the middle of planning a Showcase tour of some of the best new and developing bands in Ireland over the Summer months. It will be a trial/pilot for us because in the past when we have organised gigs, the Bands often didn't even try to do the one thing they were required to do: bring in some punters. We have some dates booked and are soon to add a few others. We want bands in the vicinity of the gigs to get involved in co-promotion of the gigs (local media etc). Those bands who do get involved in this tour will obviously benefit when we do the next one. We plan to do a couple of test runs and if successful we will be running a tour every month, next year. In terms of IU projects, the more a band is involved in giving back to the IU 'community', the more chance they have of benig invited to participate in projects such as this. If you, or anyone you know, is in a band that wants to help us promote and co-ordinate a rotating showcase tour on a regular basis, taking in your area, then email us as soon as possible or call Ron on 0879748263 Dates already arranged: May 28 (changed from 31st) - Temple Bar Music Centre, Dublin. The opening gig may be streamed over the Internet, maybe audio, maybe video as well June 9th - The Stables, Mullingar June 9th (also) - Radio City, Dublin June 16th (TBC) - Cuba, Galway June 22nd - The Bridge Tavern, Wicklow. June 30th (TBC) - Breffni Arms, Cavan July 3rd - Whelans, Dublin July 21st - Cypress Avenue, Cork July 29th - Cuba, Galway (Galway Arts Festival) July 31st - Temple Bar Music Centre. The last gig of the tour. May also be streamed live or podcasted over the Internet. Others currently under consideration: Limerick Waterford, Wexford, Mayo, Sligo, Donegal, The Midlands, Drogheda Dundalk. If you can help, then give us a shout asap.
