05.11.2005: Demos sought for National Student Music Awards 2006:Ron, IrishUnsigned

Although still not "signed on the dotted line", it appears that the National Student Music Awards are set to go ahead again in 2006.

First run in 2001, the competition last year was won by Delorentos, currently in the top 30 in the Charts. Their prize included studio time in Grouse Lodge and Abbey Road studios, TV time on CD:UK and PopTV, a single-deal with American Blood records and much more. For an appreciative young band, this is one hell of a prize, certainly not to be sniffed at or looked down on. If nothing else, consider the financial value of such a deal, let along the positive PR and industry awareness that it generated for Delorentos. Indeed, Republic of Loose, who headline the Irish gigs, have themselves entered the charts again last week, hot on the heals of their chart success with "Comeback Girl" during the Summer.

Details of how to enter the NSMA, and the qualifying criteria etc, will be anmnounced soon, on both the NSMA website at www.NSMA.com and here on IrishUnsigned.com, as well as in mainstream and specialist press.

If you have a full-time student in your band, then this competition could certainly be your opportunity to get some recognition (and goodies).

If there are no students in your band, borrow one :-)
