30072005: Republic of Loose: that time of the month...:Ron, IU

more news... back to home page...

Those of you keeping an ear to the proverbial ground will know that Republic Of Loose single "Come Back Girl" has been in the Charts now for almost a month.

Entering at No.23, it went up two places to No.21, then dropped just one place to No.22. This week it is expected to sell about the same number of units so will be just outside the top 20 again.

If you're looking for something to buy, and have not already bought it, the I can recommend it as a nice, funky-but-laid-back song with a chorus that at first sounds a bit odd but soon gets into your head (and teeth) and before long you have no choice: you have to sing along...

We are led to believe that Dermot Doran, manager of Republic of Loose, is considering throwing a party at the end of the Summer to celebrate the recent successes that the band have had (including their UK adventures). It is alleged that if you turn up at Eamonn Doran's with a receipt for the single "Come Back Girl" you might just get an invite to the party (numbers limited of course) and that the first 50 there will get a free beer to say 'Thanks'.

Not sure how true all of this is, but Dermot seems like a genuine skin, so it just might be worth the effort. If you're in around Dublin's Temple Bar area, pop into Eamonn Doran's and leave your name, phone number and email address with someone there. You might just get an invite to the gig/party7. If, however, you then turn up without a receipt, you'll probably get thrown to the lions. Or something.
