Underlining their "next big thing" status, Dublin based 5 piece New Colour Soul have shocked the record industry by charting their debut single "Life's a Party" at number 17, beating the likes of Beyonce and Britney Spears into the top 20, selling over 600 CD's in the first week.

With a massive undertaking of 25 gigs in 11 days to promote the single aided by GigSmart Ireland, the band have followed in the footsteps of Damien Rice and the Frames by taking the independent route, and have found similar success.

With big name support coming from the likes of Dave Fanning, who's single review show gave Life's a Party a huge thumbs up, and a very favourable response from respected Irish music publication Hot Press, New Colour Soul are making big waves in the industry.

"The not so average white band" - Hot Press

"Lots of colour, lots of soul. A hit, a hit, a hit..." - Dave Fanning single review, 2FM

"Wow! That woke me up! Very funky indeed!" - Colm Hayes, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, FM 104

Having had their sound described as funk fused with a unique punctuation of soul and James Browntastic! their live shows have become somewhat legendary, and they have quickly become known as one of the most explosive acts on the live music scene.
