Tracer AMC

Belfast's kings of melodic post-rock, Tracer AMC storm back onto the live circuit after a short absence with some new material under their collective belts.

Having shared stages with the likes of Spiritualized, The Album Leaf and God is an Astronaut, Tracer AMC are being more and more frequently compared to God Speed You! Black Emperor and Explosions in the Sky. This is a band to watch.

Currently working on their follow up to 2005's Islands and their 2004 debut Flux & Form, released on We Love Records, the band have been of late holed up rehearsing their intense and compelling live performance. Think multi-layered orchestrations of sound. Between shifts in dynamics and pace Tracer AMC manage to devise creatively unusual song structures. Expect a mesmerising balance between sonic architecture and all out rock.

The Eclectic

The Eclectic create a melange of ambient detours, electronic diversions and standard rock moments complimented by gorgeous harmonic vocals. For a relatively new Irish band, EP's Scream (2007) and Songs for a Blank Canvas (2005) are impressive pieces of well articulated work. Sounding like a group of very accomplished soundscape artists, The Eclectic are an aural treat.

"The thing that most impressed me about them was the overall soundscape they created, with texture playing every bit as important a part as melody in each song. It's rare to see that kind of care taken in crafting rock songs these days and that attention to detail will hopefully take them far."
