Twenty Twenty Fiction is the debut album from 26 year-old songwriter Gary Dunne. Released in Ireland in February 2005 on Gary's own label Honest Records, the album went straight into the Irish Top Twenty, with both singles Amerikan Folk Song and Jennifer becoming radio favourites, and subsequently chart hits. Recorded with friends in a house on the West Coast of Ireland in early 2004, Twenty Twenty Fiction is a welcome and unexpected break from the singer-songwriter mould.

Gary grew up in Portlaoise in the Irish midlands and developed his songwriting craft on the legendary Dublin acoustic circuit alongside writers like Damien Dempsey, Paddy Casey and many others. Starting out at the open mics and working his way to the the larger venues, the hard work led to the Irish release of Good Things EP back in 2002, establishing Gary as one of the most refreshing and original voices on the vibrant scene.

During the couple of years between Good Things EP and the release of debut album Twenty Twenty Fiction Gary worked on developing his unique live show, performing shows all over Europe, developing a loyal fanbase. Highlights include sold out gigs at the Edinburgh Fringe and London's Bush Hall, as well as opening for Damien Rice in the UK and Ireland.

Following the hugely successful independent release of Twenty Twenty Fiction in Feb 2005 and an extensive Irish tour, Gary went on to play at many of this summer’s top festivals, including the Secret Garden in the UK with the Super Furry Animals and a solo set to over 100,000 people at the 02 in the Park in Dublin.

2006 looks set to be another exciting year for the rising performer, kicking off with Gary opening for the massive NIzlopi on their sold out UK tour. This follows the hip-hop folk duo picking Gary's album as their album of the year in The Independent. The next few months also see Adidas picking up on Gary's debut single Amerikan Folk Song for use on their international website.

Twenty Twenty Fiction receives a UK release in mid 06
