Darren Byrne

Darren Byrne from Wexford, Ireland has a wild and varied musical background, ranging from the acid-jazz combo ‘fourteen’ to the trad/skit-blue-grass group ‘The Travelling Sardines’ to the funk rock trio ‘The Gone Johns.’ He has two solo albums under his belt: ‘Gone John’ (2003) and ‘Entertaining Hans Sachs’ (1999) as well as a number of other recorded works with various other artists including Mark Gilligan, Ray Heffernan, and Hans de Lind van Wijngaarden. He made the headlines in 2003 when he was refused entry to the U.S. and ejected back to Ireland, making national Irish news and press in the process. On his return to Ireland after ten years travelling and touring he founded ‘The Wexford Song Club’ which is still going strong today
