The Album

Joseph's debut solo album, The Great Commission, is based on the book The Cross and the Switchblade. It is a story of one man fulfilling his destiny and how he effected people around him in the process.

The album is a collection of passionate songs that have touched the lives of many people from various backgrounds and beliefs around the world. Referring to a number of tracks on the album Mike Rimmer, UK Gospel Radio DJ, said in a recent review, "Joseph manages to create more emotional intensity in one album than many artists achieve in three!" Just like the characters in the book Joseph has seen many young people in his own community in Dublin, Ireland, destroy their lives with substance abuse and crime.

The Biog

Joseph, full name Joe Fitzgerald, has been involved in the music business for up to 20 years. He was the front man for the D11 Runners, an Irish band in the 80's who were on the brink of a major world record deal and European tour with an International Record Label. The deal fell through and signalled the end of the road for the band.

In 1989 along the banks of the Royal Canal, Dublin, Joseph's life was extremely affected by a tragic incident. He witnessed the drowning of his best friend whose death he could not prevent. This accident inspired him to go back to song writing as a way of expressing his pain and sense of loss for his friend.

He sings from the heart and gives everything into his live performance. He has been invited to play at many festivals and has performed at 300 venues across Ireland, England and the USA over the last 3 years.

His music crosses age, race and denominational boundaries and can be used to fit into any program or setting. With this in mind we believe that he is called to use his voice and talents to fulfil a greater calling wherever he goes.
