Aurel are a three piece Alternative rock Band from Donegal with a huge rock sound that can retreat in an instant to the quietest and most fragile places.

A sound that is distinctly their own but firmly rooted in the spirit of bands such as The Jesus Lizard, Tool, Therapy?, The Doors, The Pixies & Whipping boy.

In november 2002 the band released their debut EP on their own Drive By Banjo record label to widespread acclaim. Since then the band have been gigging solidly in support of the release.

The cd is distributed and promoted in Ireland in assosciation with Things you're missing.

Aurel are:
Andrew Galvin - Guitar/Vocals
Eoghan Holland - Bass
Richard Gibson - Drums

In January 2002 Aurel won the Budweiser premier Band challenge in Ballina with a unanimous decision from the three judges, Jackie Hayden from Hotpress, Cormac Battle from Irish band Wilt and Eddie Joyce from Danceline records.

An enthusiastic review of the bands Demo by Jackie Hayden in Hotpress magazine earned them the coveted "Demo of the fortnight" accolade in April this year and opened the door to radio airplay on John walshes "Going Underground" show on Dublins FM104 and BBC Radio Ulster.

In December 2002 Aurel were hand picked to play a prestigious slot at the BELFEST showcase festival in belfast.
Live is where this band really thrives and have to be seen to be believed. A mixture of the doors potent live unpredictability, Therapy's visceral strength and the songwriting sensibilties of Nirvana and the Smashing Pumpkins. Currently busy recording their first proper Album release with a view to a September/October release on their own Drive By Banjo record label along with accompanying promotional tour.
