The band were formed (Inertia) in 1998 by school friends Joe Mullins, Kevin Brown, Christopher Hughes, Daniel Lawlor and Richard Berkeley. They originally started out playing the Dublin pub circuit as a covers band, supporting the more established acts such Aslan and Rob Strong to name but a few. In 1999, bass player Daniel Lawlor left the band and Barry Murphy took his place. Inertia continued to gain a strong reputation throughout the Dublin music scene as a formidable covers band and it was during this period that they began to write their own original material. Regrettably, in 2001, drummer Richard ‘Ritchie’ Berkeley passed away so the band took an understandable break. The band re-emerged in 2004 and recruited drummer Mick Uzell. They began gigging regularly again combining both their original material and covers in their live sets. They were runners-up in the South Dublin Unsigned bands showcase in Tallaght’s Civic centre in 2006. In January 2007, the band changed their name to Inertia 66. The “66” refers to the year 1966, which was an extremely creative year from some of the artists that have influenced and inspired this group. Their music is a combination of catchy, creative guitar riffs, melodic piano licks and impressive 3-way vocal harmonie's. The songs are quite diverse, ranging from classic up-beat and vibrant rock n’ roll tunes to poignant acoustic ballads. Edging closer to the legendary producer Phil Spectors’ formula for success to what he referred to as "Little symphonies for the kids." The “Long and Winding” road continues…………………
