JACKIE HAYDEN'S PICK OF THE FORTNIGHT
MOEBIUS, a trio from Dublin, are a bastard offspring of three different bands and they don't apologise for influences that range from Kasabian to Orbital.

Better still, they augment the basic rock format with clever uses of computers and other gadgetary to give themselves a headstart in the originality stakes.

Melodically, 'Heed My Words' is a fine pop-rock effort which has echoes of early The Who from their 'The Good's Gone' era. The graphic 'See' uses more bleeps and blips but without ever losing sight of what's they're there for, i.e. to flesh out the song.'Rain Down' continues in the same vein, establishing MOEBIUS as a band getting to grips with their own manifesto and moving relentlessly forward.
