A great double bill takes to the stage at one of Dublin's newest rock venues on Thursday March 22nd, when Eamonn Dowd & The Racketeers AND The Aftermath play The Madison in Rathmines.

The Aftermath are the only Irish independent act to have 2 top twenty hit singles in the last year. The four-piece rock act represent a blueprint for independent artists. They've spent many years working the UK and Ireland touring circuit, picking up friends and fans along the way, opening up for acts such as Razorlight, The Mission and The Streets. By their own admission they sound like Roxy Music beating up The Pixies in a Leeds backstreet !

Eamonn Dowd & The Racketeers recently released their fourth country flavoured album "Silver & Dust" on German indie label Cannery Row Records, picking up radio plays as far afield as Canada, Germany and Belgium, where Dowd often tours in a solo capacity and occasionally with the full band. The Racketeers are more than capable of cranking the amps up to 10. This may be country influenced rock 'n' roll, but it's got a raw primitive edge to it, much lacking in other bands in this genre. The gig runs from 9.30 til 1am.
