23.02.2007: Choice Music Prize sold out: but we have tickets...:Ron, IU

more news... back to home page...

The Choice Music Prize event next week, in Vicar Street, is sold out.

But, guess what? IrishUnsigned has two tickets to give away. These things are like hens teeth: you can't buy them anywhere (unless, y'know, someone is selling them on eBay or something)

Which albums are on the shortlist?
Director - We Thrive On Big Cities
The Divine Comedy - Victory for the Comic Muse
Duke Special - Songs From the Deep Forest
The Immediate - In Towers & Clouds
David Kitt - Not Fade Away
Messiah J & The Expert - Now This I Have To Hear
Fionn Regan - The End Of History
Republic Of Loose - Aaagh!
Si Schroeder - Coping Mechanisms
Snow Patrol - Eyes Open

Who's playing?
All of the above except Fionn Regan (touring Oz) and snow Patrol (touring the US)

So, how do you get these invitations to one of the most talked-about gigs of the year? Well, of the month then. OK, of next week, if you must insist...

Simple: go to www.choicemusicprize.com or anywhere that you think can provide you with the answer to this question: Who won last year's CMP?

Once you have the answer, write it in the SUBJECT LINE of an email, and send it to competition@irishunsigned.com

Do not put it in the actual email, because we only look at the subject line to pick a winner (it avoids accusations, y'know). Put your own name and contact details in the actual body of the email, including a phone number where you can be contacted with ticket-collection instructions, if you win.

Good luck. Might see you there on the night (I'll be the one with the long black overcoat, with a white rose in the lape buttonhole and carrying a copy of the London Times.

Actually, I won't.
