Limerick’s Roper have finally released their much-awaited debut album ‘Gallows Hill’. While the band is together since 2002, they have had their current line-up for the best part of three years with twins Brian and Conor O'Brien on guitar/vox and bass respectively, Brian Meaney on drums and Bryan Griffin on guitar. This formation has seen them win the Miller Strat Band of the Year title in 2005 as well as become finalists in Whelan's Brave New Stage 05 and were considered by many to be the most entertaining act in the final of the 2006 Bank of Ireland National Student Music Awards.
