Tralee, Co.Kerry, July 26th, 2006
Bloom, an exciting new free five day music event was announced
this week in Tralee.

The event will run parallel to the Rose of Tralee festival from Friday August 18th to Tuesday August 22nd.

Organisers of Bloom have announced an extraordinary line up of 20 bands that
will play on an open air stage in Tralee's town square.

The festival is billed as an independent fringe aspect of the Rose of
Tralee festival. Bloom will bring a selection of Ireland’s up and
coming bands to Tralee. The initiative was launched by a group of
volunteers including local music promoters from Clubheadbangbang
and Kerrynini as well as the organizers of last years ‘Live at the
Rose’ event.

Bloom aims to promote contemporary music and art in Kerry. Top names such as the Chalets, Delorentos, Cartoon, The Red Neck Manifesto and the Republic of Loose are set to wow the thousands of people expected to pack the town square for the five day event. In addition to the featured national acts, each night’s
line-up will feature a local Kerry act including Killarney’s Ten Past
Seven and Heliopause, Listowel’s Dwight and Tralee’s Avatar, Philtre
and Scenes.

As well as the nightly music events in the town square, Bloom is running a series of art and music based workshops and showcases including music distribution and management, live
graffiti and performance art showcases as well as a dance workshop.
