Twinkranes Launch Spooky Music Video for their Debut Single, Filmed on The Wicker Man Island.

Temple Bar Music Centre

25th May 2006

Twinkranes will launch their debut single and music video entitled Plateau on 25th of May 2006. Describing the single one listener commented They may have just captured the sound of aliens dropping from the cosmos for one last boogie before torching the unsightly, unsavoury surroundings of planet Earth forever. The band themselves call it a heady cocktail of Krautrock, avant-pop, disko grooves and gothic chops. Interested? The video for this strange and exciting single was filmed last month on the island where the cult English horror film The Wicker Man was shot in the early 70s. The resulting spooky music video will be screened alongside a live performance from the band themselves at the single launch in Temple Bar Music Centre on the 25th of May 2006.

Twinkranes is comprised of T. Krane and his childhood friends The Rooster and Dr. Raymond Krane. In the long winter of 2003 they decided to form a band with the aim of creating challenging uncompromising electronic pop music . The trio established their very own Palmer Space Studios where they carried out rigorous experimentation with vintage electronics, tribal drums and undying love for popular music and popular culture.

Following the release of their first demo, Twinkranes were asked to represent Ireland at the Nemo Music Conference in Boston in September 2005. A whistle stop tour of the U.S. followed where the band played 7 gigs over ten days visiting Boston, L.A. and taking a headline slot in the legendary Death Disco in New York. The band was then invited to take part in The Grand Festival for Independent/Alternative Music in Berlin where they wowed the audience at the Love and Hate Party.

On returning to Dublin, the band secured dates with Autamata in The Savoy, Cork, Channel One in Galway and Humanzi in Temple Bar Music Centre. Their energy infused performances led to an invitation from newly formed record label Sound Foundation Recordings (Humanzi, Channel One, The Things) to record their debut single. The record label was recently established by Alan Cullivan (The Thrills, Humanzi) and Johnny Davis (BMG) who stated: We want to work with artists and bands who have a soul and a desire to make an impact and a difference. Bland, soulless music does nothing for us. We are looking to sign artists all genres but whatever style it is we want it to be pure and challenging.

Twinkranes have a busy summer ahead with a string of dates pencilled in, including some festival appearances. The video for Plateau was released before the single on the ritual Pagan holiday of May 1st tying in with The Wicker Man theme. It can be seen on their myspace site www.myspace.com/twinkranes. The single will be available to buy in Ireland and the UK on 25th May 2006.

Admission to the launch is 7. Doors open at 7:30pm.
