13.04.2006: Sing me a lullaby...:

more news... back to home page...

After an excellent gig in the Temple Bar Music Centre, attended by about 350 - 400 punters, Lotus Lullaby were crowned the 2006 Bank of Ireland National Student Music Awards winners, following in the footsteps of last year's winners Delorentos.

On top of their haul of goodies from winning last night (see below), Lotus Lullaby now get an all-expenses paid trip to London on May 11th to represent Ireland in the UK Final of the National Student Music Awards. If they follow on from Delorentos in that competition, by winnnig it, they certainly seem to have the energy, the enthusiasm and the music to take them on to the proverbial 'next level'.

Now that it's over, I can tell you that it was a very close thing. Lotus Lullaby just about saw of the challenge of "LOST" and the amazingly entertaining (especially for a heavy rock band) "ROPER". Check out both of them, along with other finalists "The Roll Models", "Autoban" and "Bravest Kid In School" as soon as you get the chance for some of Ireland's best up-and-coming talent.

Oh, and if you fancy a short city break in the early Summer, I can highly recommend Lotus Lullaby gigiing at the NSMA UK Final in London in mid-May.

You can also pick up their current release "Push" at a shop near you...

Moreover, if they win the UK Final, they also get studio time in the famous Abbey Road Studios, a BBC Session, appearance on ITV's flagship music program "CD:TV". There's a possibility they might also be filmed for a spot on one of the national Irish TV channels after the event.
