BUDRISING ANNOUNCES DUBLIN SPRING FESTIVAL DATES
WITH PERFORMANCES FROM HARD-FI AND AN EXTRA SPECIAL GIG FROM THE STREETS

It’s big and it’s back – BudRising will rock the capital this spring with a five-night festival across Dublin’s favourite music venues from April 9th to 13th. More than thirty homegrown and international acts will perform at seven venues, including The Button Factory, The Village, Whelan’s and one very special secret location, to kick off 2008 festival fever in style!

British indie-rock band Hard-Fi will headline the opening night of BudRising’s spring festival at the Olympia Theatre on Wednesday, April 9th. The West-London four-piece took Ireland by storm in 2005 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, Stars of CCTV. With Brit Award and Mercury Prize nominations under their belt, the boys released their eagerly-anticipated follow-up album, Once Upon a Time in the West, in September 2007. The album reached number one in the UK album charts in its first week of release. Their set promises to feature tracks from both albums including mainstay hit singles Hard to Beat, Cash Machine, Living for the Weekend and Suburban Knights.

On Saturday April 12th, BudRising will take over a top secret Dublin City location for an extra special live performance from UK sensation, The Streets. This will mark the first Irish performance for Mike Skinner since 2004. Skinner will be joined on stage by Kevin Mark Trail on backing vocals, Wayne Vibes on guitar and bass, Chris Brown on keyboards, Magic Mike on samplers and Johnny Drum Machine as drummer and musical director. Following the massive commercial success of The Streets’ three studio albums - Original Pirate Material, A Grand Don't Come for Free and The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living, fans can look forward to a fourth album later in 2008.

BudRising’s spring festival will also include performances from The Ting Tings, Hadoukin, Maps, Simian Mobile Disco DJ Set, The Raveonettes, Red Snapper, Future of Left with Fight Like Apes, Erol Alkan, Digitalism and The Cazals.

Tickets are available from February 28th from Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.
