Thomas Kitt with very special guests Debut Album Launch ‘Kitt Happens’ Whelans of Wexford Street Friday Feb 8th The response to Thomas Kitt’s debut album, ‘Kitt Happens’ has established him as a genuine artist here in Ireland. The album contains twelve beautifully crafted songs, reflecting Kitt’s knack for modern day story telling and honesty as a performer and song writer. Exposure at an early age to a wide range of musical styles and artists such as Townes van Zandt, George Jones and Johnny Cash has influenced Kitt greatly. His music is regularly compared to Guy Clark and his unique guitar finger picking technique is reminiscent of the great days of folk when Dylan sang acoustic and the emphasis was on the song and not the industry. Kitt is hauntingly open in his verse, songs like ‘Die Trying’ and ‘The Wrong Girl’ are enough to make the hairs on the back of any young romantic’s neck stand on end. Kitt finally began to take his songs to the stage three years ago and began immediately wowing audiences all over Ireland. With Kitt comes an immediate sense of refreshment and a calming realisation that the days of old style song writing are nowhere near over. Thomas Kitt launches his album on Friday Feb 8th in Whelan's. www.thomaskitt.com www.myspace.com/thomaskitt For interview requests, information, images or interviews, contact una@turningpirate.com or +353872930529.
