snifferdog was originally formed as a result of the demise of two important relationships in the lives of ger and justin. ger had been playing in a host of earlier irish bands like, astronaut, smallstone and confusion, while justin came from a very early punk background with mutant asylum, the prunes (valley limberg) and gormenghast. their musical careers had crossed paths on numerous occasions in the past, so the decision was made to form snifferdog after they had both split up with their long term partners. ger's brother mark (formerly of george bernard and the hardshaws and thirteen) was finally brought in on bass after a no. of other guys had failed to work out. brian who used to play with, 'this burning effigy' is a long time friend of justins and he replaced tim mc grath who currently plays with paddy casey and used to drum with thirteen. there have been a no. of gigs around dublin and a release is imminent.
