SUPERJIMENEZ are an indie pop/rock quartet based in Dublin. In early April the band released their brilliant debut single ‘Helicopters’ that scored a Top 20 hit and remained in the Irish Top 40 charts for five consecutive weeks. The single, released on Reekus Records, garnered a lot of attention with plays on all the coolest radio shows, a “Rising Artist of the Week� accolade from Tom Dunne’s Pet Sounds on Today FM, three stars from the Irish Times, a “Hot Hit� from the Star, and one of the five tracks recommended for listening to by HotPress who also described the band as “ones to watch� and their single as “the perfect soundtrack for the summer�. The band has just finished recording their highly anticipated second single 'Beau' (November 10th Release) in London with producer Adrian Bushby (Feeder, Bell-X1, Jamiroquai) and have completed their Irish 'Helicopters' Tour in June/July that included dates in Waterford, Cork, Clare, Galway, Sligo, Mullingar, Dublin's IMRO Showcase and Punchestown’s prestigious OXEGEN Festival. This will be followed in the autumn with gigs at the esteemed Hard Working Class Heroes Festival, and Music Ireland ’06 (R.D.S) to name but a few! SuperJimenez write songs that are ornate and yet effortlessly accessible, an infectious fusion of indie, pop, rock, funk and more. The lyrics are filled with visions of the unattainable or unrequited and yet remain alluringly optimistic.
