Formed in Cork, Ireland December 2003, Kilterr quickly built a reputation as a powerful live act playing with the likes of The Pale, The Marshals and Alphastates. The band quickly built up a loyal following and played their first headline gig at Cork’s Cyprus Avenue. The time came for the band to hit the rehearsal room and get into the studio. Kilterr launched their debut promo CD to a packed house at Cork’s Cyprus Avenue in March 2005. One of the songs on this release featured on alternative radio station Freak FM’s Freaqualizer compilation CD. Kilterr has also played the Cork leg of the 2005 IMRO (www.imro.ie) showcase tour to a great response from both press and A&R representatives. In March 2005 Kilterr launched their website www.kilterr.com featuring press, latest news, mp3 downloads and photo galleries. In October 2005 Kilterr’s “What about me?� reached number 2 in the Irish unsigned MP3 charts at www.cpu.ie. Kilterr launched their latest EP “Reel Me In For Kicks� in March 2006 at Cork venue, Cyprus Avenue to a rapturous response and have since set their sights on breaking the Dublin scene to a great response. The new release is currently enjoying airplay on Irish radio and as far afield as Australia. Tracks from the new EP are regularly featuring in the Irish unsigned charts top 3. In April’s monthly chart, Kilterr’s “Higher� reached number 2. This is a band on the cusp of great things. Kilterr have a unique sound, coming from diverse musical backgrounds and take their influences from rock, metal, indie and punk. Along with the distinctive driving rhythm section which is key to the Kilterr sound, Barry John Maher’s crunching guitar and expressive vocals are joined by piano that drives the music giving their sound the edge that few bands can boast.
