The Sun Seekers were formed in the summer of 2003 with Declan McGrath from Limerick on electric and bass guitar and Fintan Donnelly from Roscommon Town on acoustic guitar and lead vocals. The 2 played around the west of Ireland, mostly in pubs. Soon to follow were Donal Kerans, an experienced drummer from Galway city who also plays with local group Charis and Miquel, an actor/musician from Mallorca, Spain on lead guitar. Again gigs were played around the west, including:

Roisin Dubh, Galway (Macnas Christmas Party) 23rd Dec. 2004 / Jacks Live venue, Roscommon 17th July 2004.

Due to a trip to Australia by Declan for a year and theatre commitments abroad by Miquel, they were replaced by Tony Johnston from Co. Donegal on bass and Simon Kelly from Tuam, Co. Galway on lead guitar. The band then launched their debut EP in Richardsons pub in Galway city, called Peace and Love after the title track. This was recorded in a private studio in Claregalway, Co. Galway at various stages over the previous 12 months.

Simon left due to other commitments and so was replaced by Pat Hargan from Sheffield, England. Pat was a demon on guitar and was also amazing at vocal harmonizes. Pat partook in many gigs in 2005, including:

Royal Hotel, Roscommon (Niall Mellon Township Fundraiser with The Walls)30th Sept. 2005 / Cuba Live, Eyre Square, Galway - Support to The Revs (won Galway leg of Hot Press competition for support slot) 28th Sept. 2005 /Corporate gigs for MacTeo - Ballincollig and Mahon Point, Cork (18th Oct. & 5th Dec. 2005).

Also in 2005 the Sun Seekers launched their debut album Window shopping for Porsches. This was recorded over the previous 4 years (at various intervals) in a small studio in county Galway. It was written, produced, engineered and mixed by Fintan Donnelly. Guest musicians include Johnny Donnelly (ex Saw Doctors) and Cormac Dunne (ex Stunning) on drums; Tony Lambert (ex Saw Doctors and Bonnie Tyler Band) and Derek Murray (ex Stunning and ex Saw Doctors) on hammond organ. The album also features a number of other top local Galway musicians.

Work is now continuing on a follow-up album which will hopefully be released in early 2007. The latest recruit to the Sun Seekers is Pascal from France who replaces Pat. Pascal is a very experienced lead guitarist and has recorded and played with many groups in France.
