Writhe were founded in summer 2000 by Francis and John in Monaghan, Ireland. A year later Marty Lynne joined as bass player - followed by Sean Bell on vocals. We have released three demos - 'lack of conscience', 'psychotic smile' and 'blind lead the blind'; all of these have received favourable reviews from Hot Press, Metal Hammer and Kerrang! They have also received airplay on Phantom FM, 2fm and Radio Ulster. 'Blind lead the blind' was recorded in Tumbleweed Studios in Dundalk, which is owned by former Honeythieves guitarist Derek Turner. We feel it represents a significant step forward for the band with its harder edge and all round better songs. |
