Steerage, now kaput, were an instrumental rock band based in Dublin, Ireland operating from around 2000-2004. Various members came and went over the years as the band went from 4-piece to 3-piece to 5-piece. In fact, as unfortunate witnesses of early gigs will attest, Steerage started life as a dodgy alt rock band with vocals and everything before eventually deciding that they shouldn't sing after some of the band members had worked on an instrumental side project called An Hermetic Collective in 2002. An Hermetic Collective then melded back into Steerage at some point, it's all very confusing anyway but all the AHC tunes ended up being part of the Steerage set and all the folk in AHC ended up in Steerage at one time or another. Steerage released a 4-track EP titled 'Smash Them All to Bits' in 2003 before deciding to call it a day in 2004. Tunes etc. at http://www.myspace.com/steerage |
