Shalka have been together in their current format for two and a half years. There are four members of the band:


Dave Murray (Drums & Percussion)

Kevin Parlour (Guitar and vocals)

Mark Brennan (Bass Guitar)

Nathan Henderson (Guitar and vocals)


? The band has existed in various formats since 1996. Kevin Parlour and former singer Paul O'Connor were the founder members.
? Mark Brennan joined in 1999. Drummer Dave Murray joined in April 2001, and Nathan Henderson completed the line up when he joined in May 2003.
? Their first gig with this line up was in Eamon Dorans of Temple Bar in April 2001.

Shalka have also played a number of venues around Ireland, including Boyle, Co. Roscommon, and Co. Clare,as well as two very succesful gigs in the UK this past summer. This is something the band will continue to pursue.

They are planning to take to the studio before christmas 2003 to record some of the most exciting music the band has written to date. Their last three-track CD has received airplay already on Dublin's Phantom 91.6 FM, Freedom 92fm, XFM, and nation-wide on 2FM.

Currently, as well as gigging, the band are in the midst of a promotional and advertising campaign as well as mail-shots to record companies, A & R people, and live venues.
