Simon Graydon: - Guitar, Flute, Vocals David King: - Guitar, Harmonica, Vocals Niall McFadden: - Bass Guitar Kieran Morley: - Keyboards Shane Stimpson: - Drums, Vocals Formed in November 2004, and after a series of indulgent weekends rehearsing in Mayo, established their sound. It is reminiscent of the blues-based pop songs by classic bands such as The Kinks and Cream to modern bands Gomez and The Coral. Influenced by progressive rock acts such as Yes and Pink Floyd, Gracehopper are also fond of writing ‘epics’ of their own, several minutes in length e.g. Melancholy Melody. These songs prove popular when performed live, and display a mature and dynamic approach to songwriting rarely seen in modern music. To date Gracehopper has only played a handful of gigs around Dublin, (Eamonn Doran’s, Voodoo Lounge, The Village) in various weekly indie clubs. However, they prove themselves a very mature band musically, with talent way beyond their years. |
